Creating Multiple Heatmaps

Have more than one page you want to set up for tracking at the same time?  When creating Heatmaps, you can create multiple Heatmaps at once. This can speed up the process when you have many web pages you would like to track and create Heatmaps for.

Multiple Heatmaps are configured with the same settings.  If you need a different configuration, you will want to set up this Heatmap using our Single Heatmap creation process.

Heatmaps are the heart and soul of Crazy Egg.  You will want to create a Heatmap to capture the fine details of what is happening on an individual web page.  A Heatmap tracks every visit (by default), and all the clicks and scrolls visitors make on your web page. It is from here that you will see your Heatmap Report and more.

To get started, you must decide which pages you want to track.  The instructions that follow are the steps to create multiple Heatmaps at once.

Creating Multiple Heatmaps – Step by Step

Here is a recommended process to help you get started.

Click on + Create New Heatmap.
Click Multiple Heatmaps, then click Next in the bottom-right corner.
Enter the URL of the webpage you want to track.  Hit the tab key when finished, and the Heatmap Name will fill in automatically.  Repeat this step for each page you want to track.  When done, click the Settings button.
If the Heatmap Name field is blank, tap the Settings button.  An error message will appear under the URL field to provide more information.
By default, the Start and End Duration settings are set for you.  A Heatmap will start tracking immediately.  A snapshot will stop tracking after 60 days  OR when it has tracked 25,000 visits.
For more information on changing these settings, please visit ‘How to Set the Duration of Your Heatmap’.
At this point, you can click on the Review button in the bottom right-hand corner. By default, we track every page visit and block pop-ups.
Congratulations!  You have created your Heatmaps.  Now, click on Return to Dashboard.
