To ensure your analytics remain accurate and free from unwanted internal traffic, team members with Admin permissions can exclude users, such as people in your office, by IP address. This helps in masking internal visits and ensuring that Session Recordings and Heatmap reports reflect only genuine visitor behavior.
Options for Blocking IP Addresses
Crazy Egg offers three ways to filter out traffic from internal staff using IP addresses:
- Single IP Address – Block an individual IP address to exclude a specific user from being tracked.
- Wildcard IP Address – Use an asterisk (*) to block a range of IP addresses.
Example: 127.0.*.1. - Range IP Address – Enter a specific IP range (e.g., 127.0.0.1-127.0.1.1) to exclude multiple addresses efficiently.
