What does "direct" mean in the "Referrer" facets of the Confetti report?
The "Search engine" facet shows a number 11937 next to Google. I assume that it indicates 11937 people came to the site after searching in Google. Is that correct? It also has the number 22064 next to "None." What does it mean? Does it indicate that 22064 people didn't use a search engine to land on the page? If they didn't use a search engine, how did they come in?
In the "Search terms" facet, there is a number "34142" next to the word "None." What does it mean?
Answer
Direct under the Referrer filter refers to the visitor who came directly to your page. They entered the URL in the browser or clicked on their bookmark.
Search Engine - those are the number of clicks made by visitors who found your page through a search engine.
Search terms -- those who clicked on your page that first found your page using a search engine and a search term (keyword). Unfortunately, Google stopped allowing search terms to be passed, so the number next to none is slightly higher than it might otherwise be. All other search engines will show results for search terms.
