How do I change the account owner’s email address?

To transfer an account to a new owner, follow the steps below based on whether they’re already a team member:

Option 1: New owner is not yet a team member

  1. Log in to your Crazy Egg account.
  2. Go to My Account → Manage Account → Change Email.
  3. Enter the new owner’s email address and save.
  4. Share your account password with them so they can log in.

Option 2: New owner is already a team member

  1. Ask your colleague (the new owner) to log in and go to My Account → Manage Account → Change Email.
  2. They should update their email address by prefixing it with D_. Example: support@crazyegg.com → D_support
  3. Once they’ve saved that change, go to your own My Account → Manage Account → Change Email.
  4. Enter the colleague’s original email address (e.g. support@crazyegg.com) and save.
  5. Share your password with them so they can access the account under their email.

Prefixing with D_ frees up the email address and prevents conflicts during the transfer.
